Go behind the behind-the-scenes to spend time with a playful penguin. Learn about our colony and how we care for them in this 30-minunte encounter.
Important Information
- Guests must wear closed-toed shoes for this encounter.
- Access to the behind-the-scenes area requires walking up several stairs. If accommodations are needed, please call (562) 590-3100, ext. 0.
Please arrive on time. Late arrival may result in a canceled encounter without a refund. Guests can still enter the Aquarium with their included general admission ticket.

Breeding Season
March-June is breeding season for our penguins. Animal encounters are paused during this time to give our flock space to interact with each other, build nests, and hopefully lay and care for eggs.

Cancellations made 72 hours before the program will receive a full refund. Cancellations made less than 72 hours before the program will be charged the full program price. Cancellations must be made by phone at 562-590-3100 between 9:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
